had my bag stolen

July 27th, 2001UncategorizedI had my bag stolen from the Hogshead pub in Cowcross street, near Farringdon station in London yesterday. It’s a really nasty experience and I lost everything, cash, cards, tube pass, keys, phone, visor, mp3 player, headphones, eyemodule. The most annoying thing is that the pub has CCTV, and it has a camera which was pointing directly at where I was, but they don’t bother to put tapes in and record the pictures. They just had the picture of the bar visible so they could see how busy they were. The police weren’t very impressed when they found that out. They recommend not bothering to drink there again, as there are many other pubs to choose from.
So, I guess in the short term I’ll be fishing the old PalmPilot Professional out of the loft again to make my journeys to work less boring, at least with an electronic gadget I can catch up on the news, read emails etc. I’ve got a bit used to the 8MB of storage I get on the visor so shrinking back to 1MB might be a bit tricky. But, I guess I’m in the market for a new PDA, not sure which to go for so I’m planning to do some research and find out which are the best to be had now.

Nice comments Ed and you will never read this no doubt, but just wanted to add that I had the same thing happen to me tonight. It’s horrible and you cannot be blamed for taking your eye off of your bag for a moment as that’s how long it takes for these lowlife to swoop.

read your comment on stolenbag, it happened to me yesterday .i parked my car up and got the dog out for a run,instead of taking my bag i put it under his bed! little did i know i was being watched !5 minutes passed my friend said she wanted to join us,another 5 minutes and my friend called me on my mobile someone had been around the car as she drove passed ,she pulled up behind my car ,i headed towards it "my bag" thats all i could think of ,the window was smashed it was gone and of course no one had seen anything!!all my cards, camera licence,cheque book , photos of kids,college id and to top it off my cash which was for my college trip to new york ,which i dont want to go on now..all gone …feel so angry these people are scum ,we work hard for our family trying to do the best we can ,isnt life hard enough without this stress.to top it off tesco fully comp car insurance only pay £100 for theft and charge £75 to fix the window so we dont even get back the price of my bag .and ive got to pay £19 for a replacement drivers licence now its not free!
