The House of Spirits
by Isabel Allende
From the Back Cover:
"Spanning four generations, Isabel Allende's magnificent family saga is populated by a memorable, often eccentric cast of characters. Together, men and women, spirits, the forces of nature, and of history, converge in an unforgettable, wholly absorbing and brilliantly realised novel that is as richly entertaining as it is a masterpiece of modern literature."
This is a wonderfully written book, with a wealth of details and characters you can believe in. The story is an engaging one, and I found myself turning the pages to find out what would become of these strange, but endearing people.
Read it, but don't be surprised if you keep picking it up when you should be doing something else.

Pretty good
Hi, I had to read this book for school..and I think that it was pretty good and I probably would have liked it better if I wasn't forced to read 400 and some pages in a limited amount of time..but if you want a to read this for pleasure..I think you would like it.

Loved It
I thought this book was incredible, being hispanic myself I could identify with the characters and place other people in my life as others. Although I was required to read this book for school, I think anyone would enjoy it if they were reading for pleasure. However, it is a deep and profoundly intellectual novel, providing realism to the truest extent, some of which many people cannot take much of, but the magical elements are riveting. What a truly genuine piece of literature. Pay attention to details, everything means something.
