My Travel Bucket List for When I Win the Lottery

It’s going to happen one day, I just know it. I am going to turn on the television to watch the lottery draw, or I will see it taking place live online, and my numbers will come up. Lady Luck will smile down on me at last and I will win the lottery jackpot. It’s going to happen, any day now.

In order to make this scenario come true, I always make sure to purchase my lottery tickets in time for the biggest draws. I like to play the popular lotteries, especially when the jackpot prizes are in the hundreds of millions of dollars. I remember when the U.S. Powerball broke all previous records and offered a $1.58 billion jackpot in January 2016. I didn’t win that prize, unfortunately, but I’m sure my time will be coming soon.

I have already begun to prepare my plans for the day after the lucky draw. I’m not exactly counting my chickens before they hatch, but I am beginning to visualize what I will be doing. There is one thing I am eager to begin as soon as possible. I want to travel.

My travel bucket list is already organized. After all, expense will no longer be a factor and actually, I can travel as much as I want. I’ll literally have all the time in the world to travel all around the world. I’ve jotted down some of the most exciting places I plan to visit when my bank account can afford it.

Maldives – Infinity pools, snorkelling and jet-skiing over clear blue seas, beaches, good food, relaxing without a care in the world. This is how I imagine my trip to the tropical nation of Maldives. I know the flights getting there will be long but I won’t have to hurry home. I could stay a fortnight, or even longer.

China – It’s the most populous country on earth and yet I’ve never been there! I can’t imagine what it would be like to see the Great Wall or to walk the streets of Beijing. My plans for a China trip would include more than just sightseeing. I would love to immerse myself in Chinese culture, meet the people, taste the food, and explore the country. Not knowing Chinese will make this a bit difficult but then I can afford to hire a knowledgeable private guide. Nǐ hǎo!

African safari – I’ve always enjoyed seeing wild animals in the zoo but I am really keen on seeing them in their natural habitat. And, I want to do this now, before global warming has its full effect. I see myself sitting in the back of an open air jeep taking photos of the wildlife from a very close distance. I can imagine relaxing in a luxurious jungle lodge, enjoying all the amenities while surrounded by the best Nature has to offer.

Las Vegas – I need to know what the glitter is all about. I picture myself being met at the airport by a limousine driver. I would stay in a luxury suite overlooking the Las Vegas Strip. I would make regular appearances on the casino floor and be treated everywhere like the most important VIP. My visit to Vegas would include seeing the latest shows and eating in the most prestigious restaurants. And, there would be a bit of gambling as well.

My travel bucket list could go on and on. I can think of additional places I would love to visit. But, first things first. I will go purchase my lottery tickets and tomorrow I’ll book my flights.
